Varity Acts

Our variety shows start with rapid-fire skits to capture the audience's imagination. For the little ones we have such skits as "Pig and Snail" and "The Happy Fish" Few audiences of any age can resist "Dingle berry's Talent Show," where our irrepressible jester invites some lucky audience member to "show your talent"! Sometimes, our Maureen and Benjamin put on a puppet show all their own for the audience.

Sometimes our stage is invaded by bold Russian cossacks, who must climb the Mountain of Doom and overcome dragons and giants to win the heart and hand of the fabulous Princess Marya. This is one of Benjamin's favorite tales (because knights are "awesome"), and one of the few occasions in which crocodiles do not take over the stage. The otherwise irrepressible crocodiles often star in their own versions of otherwise traditional fairy tales, generally chewing on the scenery and looking for stray sheep, thus bringing their own brand of mayhem to "Cindergator," "Rapunzerella," and "The Three Little Pigs-- er-- uh--Crocodiles." They try to perform "Little Bo-Peep," showing why the sheep ran away in the first place. Even "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" is not safe from them, as one of them takes the role of one of the bears, with hilarious results.

We also offer seasonal favorites: For Halloween the two children go trick-or-treating and encounter the ghost of Captain Blood and a trio of witches. Easter brings out Peter Rabbit, and at Christmas, Benjamin imagines his own childlike version of the nativity story.
